Thirsty Thursday

As a college student, I probably drink differently than adults do. Generally I hit up the lone bottle of SoCo or Sailor Jerry and take a couple shots, and/or coke/liquor combo drinks then switch to beer. You know, just something easy to mix that probably doesn't taste very good because of the unbalanced amount of liquor. So I like to try and find some things that taste good and aren't too difficult to make. What college student has the time or all the proper ingredients to mix up a good drink when they are at a house party (instead of the bar)? Plus 3.2 Keystone Light starts to drag after the third night in a row. Here is the first of (hopefully) many recipes.

Tiki Kwandozi Special (and hence inspiration for most of my antics and name of the site)

  1. 1 can frozen limeade concentrate
  2. 12 oz. skyy berry vodka (have tried everything but this goes best)
  3. 5 cans light beer (go with a mexican beer or something really light)
  4. mix it all up, drink chilled, and add a little umbrella if you heart so desires

This makes enough for 2 guys or 3 gals usually. Recipe can also be cut down but I like to make this much and just mix it in a pitcher and pour as desired.

OUDaily dose of not-that-bad

I have been looking forward to demolishing (with words) the OUDaily since i thought to write about it. The website has always put the worst articles forward. Right before the election the main page of the website has the editorial supporting the Daily's favorite candidate. Of course, I was not surprised it was Barack Obama. The wanna be liberal-rag of a newspaper thinks its a good idea to vote for the most liberal candidate. So I go into the article thinking that maybe they would give some good justification as to why Obama was the better candidate, but the article was even worse than i was expecting. The only factual statement given in the article is about how much money Obama raised, and then citing to why Obama is obviously the best candidate. Then the libs proceeded to do the same dance as Obama and use the word 'change' about 400 times, and they threw in lower taxes for people with no money for giggles. It could've been the WORST article I have ever read. If the daily is going to speak as a whole they should atleast used some factual evidence. I'm not saying my opinion is any better (it is though), but I feel like I could have definitely written the article better.
On the good side, There is hope for the Daily. Eric Combs has a fresh, witty article about top daug (who I really wanna see at basketball games this year) that actually got comments on the bottom. I thought I was the only person who actually read anything on that website. Then I finally stumbled on more articles that were well written and thought provoking, though none written by a person with a sound for a name. I also went to a couple of other BigXII school papers (websites) and the daily was better, so be thankful our liberals aren't quite as talented as others when it comes to providing only the most unlogical opinion.
Aside from the crappy paper, Sam Bradford looked great on ESPN today, especially with his goatie. I am also sporting one right now, and will continue to refuse my girlfriend's pleas to shave it now that my hero has one. This is me publicly wishing him good luck against Tech and in the Heisman Trophy race. I'm sure that I will rant about it again, though.

he's gonne be a great el presidente

Democrats everywhere are going to be so proud of their beloved president-elect. First he is gonna drive up spending with the bailout of the major car companies (only 50 billion or so) then he's gonna ruin college football with the implementation of a playoff. If he continues only making stupid decisions like these, we all going to be so poor that we won't be able to even watch our beloved teams on television, Obama seems to think he is a true college football fan but just what team does he root for? There isn't a team with a chance of a winning record within 500 miles of Chicago... Nor do his alma maters have teams that really compete for anything. So where does his expertise come from? Obviously no one knows. Why is he in Texas for the above picture? Still no answers. Does he know who won the last three national championships even? Can he name a team that is even arguably the best ever? Doubt it. But most imporantly, can he even throw a spiral? I'm betting probably better than Tim Tebow, but even that can't be considered a good throw. Should we really allow a man who knows nothing of football in general to push us around so that he can think he has done something good? Just like a liberal to try to change something that he knows nothing about.
On a lighter note... I've been watching Las Vegas (tv show) non stop, all day and have just realized how cheesy the last season is. Season One though, not too bad.
